App privacy
The Puzzle Rush game for iOS and Android has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and you never create an account. Most of what you do stays on your phone. A few things are sent to our server so that community puzzles and leaderboards work, and you can delete them from inside the app at any time.
What stays on your phone
Your progress, your settings, the puzzles you are making and your best scores are stored on your phone only. They are not sent anywhere unless you choose to share a puzzle or post a score, as described below. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
What is sent to our server
- A random ID for your copy of the app, and a random secret that proves requests really come from it. The app makes both up itself. They are not linked to your phone, your Apple or Google account, or anything else about you, and reinstalling the app creates new ones.
- Your display name and country, when you share a puzzle or post a score. Your country starts as a guess from your phone's language settings, and you can change it in Settings.
- Puzzles you choose to share: the layout, its name and the solution you recorded.
- When you play a community puzzle: whether you solved it, whether you used Help, and how you rated it.
- Leaderboard scores for Endless and Time Trial. For the highest scores, a recording of the moves you made, so other players can watch the run.
- Reports you make about a community puzzle.
Who can see it
Your display name, your country's flag, the puzzles you share, your leaderboard scores and their recordings are visible to other players. Your app ID is never shown to anyone.
What we never collect
No email address, no location, no contacts, no photos, no advertising ID and nothing that identifies your phone. The app does not ask for permission to reach any of them.
Services we use
Our server runs on Render, and connections to it pass through Cloudflare. Like any service on the internet, they see your IP address in order to deliver requests. We do not store it. Our server only counts requests per address for a minute at a time, to stop anyone flooding it.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings → Delete My Data. Everything listed above is deleted from our server immediately: your shared puzzles, plays, ratings, reports, scores and recordings. You do not have to ask us, and you do not have to wait.
One exception: a puzzle that was featured as a Puzzle of the Day stays in the public daily archive, with your name and country removed so it is no longer linked to you.
Changes
If the app starts storing anything new, this page will say so before it does. Last updated September 2026.
